I had actually never heard of an "Art Swap" before, mostly because i'm new to the polymer clay world (2 whole months!) but i'm really excited!
Christi Friesen (www.cforiginals.com) is holding her "Art Swap" and the theme is "Found Object."
So you create your polymer clay creation and incorporate something you found: bead, charm, twig...you get the idea :) and mail it into her. She will then exchange your art piece with another artists' art piece and then everyone can enjoy each other's work (Brilliant whoever first came up with the idea...I LOVE IT!).
I created a focal bead I titled: "Benjamin's Heart."
for the "found object" part I literally found a little tarnished heart charm in the bottom of one of my boxes (Have a feeling it belong's to my daughter from broken jewelry past) :)
My thinking was that I would tie a ribbon around my polar bear focal bead and the heart would be a necklace charm around the bears neck (I promise...It looked FABULOUS in my mind)...
So after everything was said and done...I really wish I had tucked the little heart charm under the "fur" and made it look like it was protruding from his fur a little bit...And illusion if you will that the bear was already wearing a necklace.
So I hope it all works out and "Benjamin's" new owner loves him (Also, if not...At anytime Benjamin can come home...Loves you Benji Bear!) :)
Enjoy!
