"LARRY!"
That's the name my 17 year old son gave to my little sculpey clay halibut...
I loved it immediately :)
Pretty much from the start I wanted to start translating my watercolor art pieces into sculpey clay works for necklaces, pins and perhaps wall hangings...So this particular one I am in the process of creating is based on my watercolor art piece I titled "A Berry Lovely Halibut."
This particular clay piece is going to be a necklace: Halibut...Check! Blueberries...Check! Blueberry leaves...OH YEAH! I gotta make those today! :) (tee-hee) And I suppose assembly of the necklace would come next but i'm still deciding the total over all design and balance.
But I wanted to share some "beginning" pics with you so that you too can see what you can create from your art pieces and doodles or anything else that inspires you to want to keep "claying." :)
I will add to this blog as it starts all coming together...
My watercolor print titled "A Berry Lovely Halibut" that I created early last year (April 2010'ish)

And "Larry" and the Blueberries (Sounds like an Alaskan rock band!)
When I make the leaves and assemble the rest i'll post more pics!
Happy imagining!
Wow, Shellie! It's hard to believe you are a beginner at pc because your pieces look very professional. I think you have a great future ahead. I'll be checking back to see what you are up to. Now I'd better get to my blog and update.....
ReplyDeleteAhhh, i'm blushing! :)
ReplyDeleteThank you SO much and welcome to you!
(And to the new folks that found my little corner of the web)!
In high school (almost 20 years ago...YIKES! feels like just yesterday) my boyfriend was a sculptor...He worked on giant dragons (like 2 to 3 feet tall) and he graciously allowed me to to learn from him while he sculpted...
Funny the things we pick up in life that we don't know we need until later (or in my case MUCH LATER) on in life :)
